All instruction provided below is suggested based on the assumption you are (a) using a current version of Windows, (b) connecting to a JPS gateway that is new out-of-the-box or known to be at factory default settings, and (c) that you are directly connecting your PC to the network/Ethernet port of the gateway using Cat 5e or better cable.
Windows 10
- Open "Settings" and choose "Network & Internet"
- Choose "Ethernet", then "Ethernet"
- Under IP assignment click "Edit"
- Change the drop-down from "Automatic (DHCP)" to "Manual"
- Click the radio button under IPv4 to change it from "Off" to "On"
- Fill in the boxes with the following values:
- IP address: 192.168.1.199
- Subnet prefix length: 24
- Gateway: 192.168.1.1
- All remaining fields not needed
- Click "Save"
Windows 11
- Open "Settings" and choose "Network & Internet"
- Choose "Ethernet"
- Under Ethernet, across from IP assignment click "Edit"
- Change the drop-down from "Automatic (DHCP)" to "Manual"
- Click the radio button under IPv4 to change it from "Off" to "On"
- Fill in the boxes with the following values:
- IP address: 192.168.1.199
- Subnet prefix length: 24
- Gateway: 192.168.1.1
- All remaining fields not needed
- Click "Save"
