Firmware Version 4.11.0
These release notes are available in the web interface of each of the Z-Series devices (RSP-Z2, Z-Series Controller, and ACU-Z1).
RSP-Z2
This release adds Link Profiles, Radio resource AUX-Input reactions, a new Teleproject Respondr resource type, additional resource quantity licenses, individual user-driven password changes, customizable icons for resource actions, and other minor features.
New Feature / Improvement List
Link Profiles
Link Profiles provide a way to quickly store and/or apply different resource patching configurations to the system. For example, configure the nets how you want them, then create a Link Profile. In the future, you can apply that Link Profile to restore those nets how they were when the profile was created. Multiple profiles can be created, and include net, monitor group, and broadcast group configuration. There is a new Link Profile management tool, a new Link Profiles button at the bottom, and new user permissions.
Removal of Net Configuration
The RSP-Z2 has had a feature where you could have limited functionality and only have very specific ways resources could be patched together. This did not allow for monitor groups, broadcast groups, recorder resources, patching all resources together, or Unity connectivity. With the addition of Link Profiles, the benefit of having a simple pre-set net configuration does not exist any more - it only brought limitations. Therefore, this feature has been removed, and "default" Link Profiles have been added to allow you to quickly obtain the previous pre-set patches. (Note that existing pre-set net configurations will be migrated automatically.)
Radio Resource AUX-Input Reactions
Radio resources connect to hardware devices using the DB-15 connectors on the rear of the device. These connectors support GPIO inputs and outputs ("auxiliary signals"). If desired, the resource can react to changes in these inputs. It can patch all resources together, unpatch resources, apply a specific Link Profile, and/or play tones. (Note that the connected radio cable must supply this signal. Most of JPS's cables do not support this, so a custom cable may be required.) The configuration for these inputs is on the Radio resource configuration page.
Teleproject Respondr Resource
A new Teleproject Respondr resource type has been added to the system. Teleproject Respondr is a push-to-talk service (provided by a third party company, Teleproject). This resource type allows communication with this service (e.g., to patch radios to the service). The Teleproject Respondr resource is a RoIP+ based resource type, meaning you can use the common RoIP+ tunnels and various other RoIP+ features.
Additional Resources (Licensed)
The RSP-Z2 can now have additional virtual resources added with a license. Either two or four resources may be added. These additional resources can be of any type except for Radio (which requires physical hardware connections). Additional resources may be useful in some scenarios where adding a second physical device is not practical. Contact JPS to acquire a license for these additional resources.
Self-Supported User Password Changes
The system supports multiple user logins from multiple user accounts potentially with different permissions. The only way to change user password was to do so from a user account with permission to change any user password. Now, each login has the ability to change its own username and password. Access this from the new "Account Settings" option inside the "Preferences" menu.
Customizable Resource Action Icons
Operator/Resource actions allow operators to initiate specific behaviors from a dialog on the resource (e.g., inject a DTMF sequence). These actions are configured on the resource's settings page. Now, this configuration and display supports adding customizable icons to help you quickly identify the action in the list of actions.
Adjustable Right-Hand-Side Sizing
The right hand side of the user interface is used to display various types of information (e.g., help text). This right hand side area can now be resized (dragged wider or narrower). This width is saved on the logged in user's account and will be remembered across logins.
New Cable Profile
A new cable profile has been added for the Jotron TR-910 mobile radio.
Numerous Fixes
As with any update, problems have been fixed and mitigated as appropriate.

Z-Series Controller
This release adds Link Profiles, support for the new STR-Z3 as a distributed system, support for new distributed system features, user-driven password changes, and other minor features.
STR-Z3 Distributed System Support
The STR-Z3 is a new JPS Z-Series device centered around virtual/streaming/network resources. It has all the same types of features available in other Z-Series products (notably similar to the RSP-Z2), but does not include physical radio connections. The Z-Series Controller now supports the STR-Z3 as a type of distributed system - i.e., the STR-Z3 can connect to the Z-Series Controller using the Unity feature set.
Teleproject Respondr Resource (Distributed Support)
Support for distributed systems that have the new Teleproject Respondr resource type has been added to this system (it is not a "Local" resource type). Teleproject Respondr is a push-to-talk service (provided by a third party company, Teleproject). This resource type allows communication with this service (e.g., to patch radios to the service). The Teleproject Respondr resource is a RoIP+ based resource type, meaning it can use the common RoIP+ tunnels and various other RoIP+ features.
Radio Resource AUX-Input Reactions (Distributed Support)
New features on the RSP-Z2 include allowing it to react to GPIO "Auxiliary Input" signals coming in on the physical DB-15 connector. Current available reactions include automated patching and notification tones. These reactions can now be configured on the Radio resources from the Z-Series Controller's user interface.
Numerous Fixes
As with any update, problems have been fixed and mitigated as appropriate.

STR-Z3
This is the first release for the STR-Z3! The STR-Z3 provides many virtual resource types and patching capabilities similar to other JPS Z-Series devices. The software version number "4.11.0" has been used to clarify the features common to all Z-Series devices.
New Feature / Improvement List
Initial STR-Z3 Release
This is the first version of Z-Series software that supports the STR-Z3 device. For those familiar with the JPS Z-Series family of products, all of the standard features are available - things like many types of resources, various ways of performing audio patches, and system administration features such as backup/restore. For a complete list of features, please consult the JPS Z-Series User Manual.
