Logging in
Your new JPS ACU-Z1 is a modular device with a system of cards. To access the core functions of the ACU-Z1, you'll first want to access the CPM-Z1, which has a factory-default IP address of 192.168.1.200/24, with no gateway or DNS set. To begin setup and configuration, you will navigate to that address from a PC through your web browser. To do that, your computer must be on the same network as the CPM-Z1. We recommend to not have any VIM-Z1 or PSTN-Z1 cards connected to the network at this time.
If you are unsure how to put your computer on the same network as the CPM-Z1, more info can be found here, or by working with your IT administrator.
With your computer on the same network, connect an Ethernet cable (suggest CAT5E or better) from your PC's network/Ethernet port to the Ethernet port on the ACU-Z1's CPM-Z1 and navigate to the IP address mentioned above (http://192.168.1.200). On the login page, enter the default credentials:
- Username: su
- Password: su
Changing the System's IP Addresses
Now that you're logged in, you may need to change the IP address of your ACU-Z1's CPM-Z1 to work on your network. The minimum requirement for this is to update its IP address and subnet mask. For Internet access, you will also need a default gateway configured, and for certain resource types you will need DNS servers configured as well.
You will be able to adjust the IP address information for each of the installed VIM-Z1 and PSTN-Z1 cards from the CPM-Z1. By default, it will assign these to the next 12 sequential IP addresses from the address assigned to the CPM-Z1. You can adjust this behavior by disabling auto-management of the IP address and/or other network settings on a per-card basis, which would allow you to configure each card independently from the settings on the CPM-Z1. Once you have configured your network settings appropriately we now recommend connecting each of the VIM-Z1 and PSTN-Z1 cards to the network. More information can be found here.
NOTE: If you change the IP address of your CPM-Z1 you may need to reconfigure the static IP address you previously set on your PC to re-establish the IP connection to the CPM-Z1. If your PC is no longer on the same address scheme as your CPM-Z1 you will be unable to access the UI.
Selecting Resource Type
Your ACU-Z1 has multiple resource types available. These include:
- CPM-Z1: JPS RoIP, JPS Bridge, MCC Console, SIP, RTP, USB Headset, handset, and composite options
- PSTN-Z1: PSTN, JPS RoIP, JPS Bridge, SIP, RTP, various Push-to-Talk over Cellular (Motorola WAVE PTX (Kodiak), Zello, ESChat and others), and composite options
- VIM-Z1: Radio, JPS RoIP, JPS Bridge, SIP, RTP, various Push-to-Talk over Cellular (Motorola WAVE PTX (Kodiak), Zello, ESChat and others), and composite options
You can create up to 24 resources on the CPM-Z1 by navigating to Settings > Resources and clicking the "+ Resource" button near the top of the page. These are in addition to the handset resource and the 2 resources offered per VIM-Z1 and PSTN-Z1 card installed in the ACU-Z1.
Once you select the resource type, there will be various steps to complete the setup of the resource, please reference the manual, here, for more detailed instructions. Also see here for supplemental guides and setup/operational material.
