- Unity streamlines creating wide area interoperability systems and it is built-in on systems like the RSP-Z2, STR-Z3, and Z-Series Controller.
- In a Unity system, the Z-Series Controller is the management device. The RSP-Z2 and the STR-Z3 are distributed devices.
-
When adding a distributed device to the management device:
- Obtain the IP Address, Messaging Port, and Local System Id of the management device. (Z-Series Controller)
- Turn on Discovery Mode and Auto Detect on Discovery. (Z-Series Controller Unity page)
-
On the distributed device (RSP-Z2 or STR-Z3), in the Management Device group of settings: Enable Use Management System, enter the Z-Series Controller’s IP Address, Messaging Port, and Unique System Id. Then click Save. (RSP-Z2, STR-Z3, distributed system’s Unity page)
- The systems should connect.
Resources should be visible on the Z-Series Controller.
- When all distributed systems have been added, turn off Discovery Mode and Auto Detect on Discovery. (Z-Series Controller Unity page)
- Use all resources from the Z-Series Controller’s Home page.
- Access distributed system settings from the Z-Series Controller’s Distributed Systems page.
