Logging in
Your new JPS Z-Series Controller has a factory-default IP address of 192.168.1.200/24, with no gateway or DNS set. To begin setup and configuration, you will navigate to that address from a PC through your web browser. To do that, your computer must be on the same network as the Z-Series Controller.
If you are unsure how to put your computer on the same network as the Z-Series Controller, more info can be found here, or by working with your IT administrator.
With your computer on the same network, connect an Ethernet cable (suggest CAT5E or better) from your PC's network/Ethernet port to the Ethernet port on the Z-Series Controller and navigate to the IP address mentioned above (http://192.168.1.200). On the login page, enter the default credentials:
Username: su
Password: su
Changing the Unit's IP Address
Now that you're logged in, you may need to change the IP address of your Z-Series Controller to work on your network. The minimum requirement for this is to update its IP address and subnet mask. For Internet access, you will also need a default gateway configured, and for certain resource types you will need DNS servers configured as well. More information can be found here.
NOTE: If you change the IP address of your Z-Series Controller you may need to reconfigure the static IP address you previously set on your PC to re-establish the IP connection to the Z-Series Controller. If your PC is no longer on the same address scheme as your Z-Series Controller you will be unable to access the UI.
Selecting Resource Type
The Z-Series Controller has multiple resource types available. These include JPS RoIP, JPS Bridge, MCC Console, SIP, RTP, USB Headset, and composite options. You can create resources, up to the number licensed for your Z-Series Controller, by navigating to Settings > Resources and clicking the "+ Resource" button near the top of the page.
Once you select the resource type, there will be various steps to complete the setup of the resource, please reference the manual, here, for more detailed instructions. Also see here for supplemental guides and setup/operational material.
