Logging in
Your new JPS Z-Series product has a factory-default IP address of 192.168.1.200/24, with no gateway or DNS set. To begin setup and configuration, you will navigate to that address from a PC through your web browser. To do that, your computer must be on the same network as the Z-Series product.
If you are unsure how to put your computer on the same network as the Z-Series product, more info can be found here, or by working with your IT administrator.
With your computer on the same network, connect an Ethernet cable (suggest CAT5E or better) from your PC's network/Ethernet port to the Ethernet port on the Z-Series product and navigate to the IP address mentioned above (http://192.168.1.200). On the login page, enter the default credentials:
- Username: su
- Password: su
Preconfigured Layouts (RSP-Z2 only)
On initial login, you will be prompted to choose one of the preconfigured layouts. Options include:
- Cross-Connected (resource 1 to resource 2)
- Cross-Connected with Backhaul (resource 1 to resource 2 to resource 3)
- Independent Passthrough (resource 1 to resource 3, and resource 2 to resource 4)
- Custom (you can patch the resources together as needed using the drag-and-drop UI)
One must be chosen before you're able to proceed with initial configuration.
Changing the Unit's IP Address
Now that you're logged in, you may need to change the IP Address of your Z-Series product to work on your network. The minimum requirement for this is to update its IP address and subnet mask. For Internet access, you will also need a default gateway configured, and for certain resource types you will need DNS servers configured as well. More information can be found here.
NOTE If you change the IP address of your Z-Series product you may need to reconfigure the static IP address you previously set on your PC to re-establish the IP connection to the Z-Series product. If your PC is no longer on the same address scheme as your Z-Series product you will be unable to access the UI.
NOTE For the ACU-Z1 (firmware versions 3.X and earlier) - if you apply default gateway and DNS addresses after the initial setup you will need to submit the changes on the page, then refresh each module under the "Card Network Settings" section.
Selecting Resource Type
Depending on the Z-series product you are using, there are multiple resource types available. These include:
- Z-Series Controller: JPS RoIP, JPS Bridge, MCC Console, SIP, RTP, USB Headset
