Your firmware likely got corrupted if your NXU-2A stopped working, link dropped, or UI won't load, and you get the following error message when you connect via serial:
---This software update is not intended for this module
---Use 'autoupdate' to load the correct software now!!!!
Issues that cause firmware corruption are usually due to a power brownout or blip. Good news, though, this is recoverable! Follow the procedure below to recover from this error.
- Configure a PC to access the NXU-2A over the same network subnet.
- Using the Autoupdate utility, load the unit with the firmware file named nxu2aV100_preload_APP.s19. Be sure to check the "Reboot when complete" checkbox on the Autoupdate utility before updating the firmware.
- The preload application will run and prepare the unit to be loaded with current firmware. The LINK ACTIVE, CHANNEL ACTIVE, and AUDIO INPUT LEDs will flash on and off every second once the unit is ready to receive the upgrade. A message will also be output via the serial port stating the unit is ready to be upgraded.
- Using the Autoupdate utility, load the unit with the firmware file named nxu2a_ver109_app.s19 (this is the final firmware release for the NXU-2A). Be sure to check the "Reboot when complete" checkbox on the Autoupdate utility before updating the firmware.
- Browse to the unit's webpage and verify that the unit is now running version 1.09.
NOTE: After performing the upgrade, the unit will be set to factory default settings except for the unit's IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and serial port settings which will remain unchanged.
